Platform Unification and Integration for Global Biopharmaceutical Company

Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Brussels, Belgium with more than 7500 employees in approximately 40 countries. The company invests in cutting-edge scientific research to meet unmet patient needs and connects globally with patients and their families living with the physical and social burdens of severe disease.

Business Challenge

Our client needed to harmonize their technology stack and migrate all digital assets to use same stack and run on a common platform. This necessitated the design of a new digital platform based on the latest Drupal CMS and a transfer of more than 60 sites, based on different platforms, into one unified platform to establish integration with different systems. Additionally, they needed to implement external Patient Storage Service interaction with Drupal websites to comply with data protection requirements.

Project Description

SoftServe developed a cloud agnostic platform for the websites migration based on the CMS Drupal 8 with end-to-end distribution for enterprise clients that is based on the Azure cloud model.

Content deployment between different environments was also developed. End users are patients and doctors with different workflow restrictions: edit, review, or publish. The platform is compliant with the Patient Storage Service where sensitive client information is located. The Drupal multisite architecture approach allows separate, independent sites to be served from a single codebase. Each site has its own database, configuration, files, specific modules, and base domain or URL.

Value Delivered

SoftServe designed and implemented a new CMS platform and appropriate cloud infrastructure to run the platform that is scalable to support all digital assets to be migrated, as well as support the client’s new planned website. SoftServe also delivered to the client new websites with easier support and maintenance, which saved our client costs and optimized processes.
