SoftServe Bulgaria Celebrates its 10th Anniversary with an Investment in Innovation and Social Impact
SOFIA, Bulgaria (July 25, 2024) - SoftServe, the global digital consulting and software development company, celebrates a significant milestone in 2024, marking 10 years of presence in the Bulgarian IT market. Over the past decade, SoftServe Bulgaria has experienced remarkable growth and amassed substantial experience, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and excellence.
A Decade of Progress
In 2014, SoftServe made a strategic decision to enter the European market and open development centers in Poland and Bulgaria, marking an important milestone in the company’s history and paving the way for more partnerships and innovations.
“Before 2014, our focus was primarily on US clients. Entering the European market significantly transformed our business. The EMEA team quickly grew to be the largest within SoftServe, capturing major portfolios and now accounting for a substantial portion of our clientele,” reflects Volodymyr Semenyshyn, EMEA President at SoftServe. “The contributions of our Polish and Bulgarian teams have been pivotal in this success and continue to drive our development.”
Investing in Local Talent and Ecosystem
Since its inception in Bulgaria in 2014, SoftServe has expanded to 500 employees and established four offices across the country—in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, and Burgas. This growth has significantly contributed to the development of the Bulgarian IT talent pool and ecosystem. From the very beginning, SoftServe's mission has been to empower talented individuals to change the world.
SoftServe Bulgaria's experts drive innovation in the IT sector, working on globally impactful projects and delivering exceptional professionalism to clients. The team has extensive experience working within industries such as healthcare and retail, and lately the Bulgarian office has been focusing on platform services - Salesforce, Sitecore, Digital experience platforms and Low-code platforms.
The company also collaborates with 6 leading universities and academies in Bulgaria to help young talent kickstart their careers in IT, setting them on a path to success with 7 IT courses and different learning and certification opportunities.
“A decade of innovation, growth, and community support” aptly describes our journey,” said Andon Simeonov, VP and Country Manager of SoftServe Bulgaria. “We are proud of our achievements over the past ten years and are committed to continuing our support for the local IT ecosystem and broader community.”
SoftServe is proud of its achievements during these ten years, receiving numerous awards such as:
- TechElite by DevStyler in the Technology for Good category” with the OpenTech project
- Employer Branding Awards 2024 in the "Diversity and inclusion" category with the EmpowerU program
- Heroes 2023 Awards by Time Heroes for its CSR initiatives
- Employer of the Year for several consecutive years and many others.
Impact on the Future and Society
In alignment with its social responsibility policy and in celebration of its anniversary, SoftServe is collaborating with TimeHeroes, Bulgaria's largest volunteering platform, to transform a former kindergarten in Orlandovtsi into a vibrant children’s center. The project aims to renovate the building and convert it into a hub for educational, medical, and social activities for children with disabilities.
Another part of the company’s commitment to society is leveraging technology to drive positive social impact and innovation through the Open Tech projects in Bulgaria. In 2022-2023, volunteers donated over 7,672 employees' hours to support education by improving the digital educational platform prepodavame.bg, lending a hand to the NGO "Teach for Bulgaria". Also, since February 2023, SoftServe employees are developing a website of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation to promote an active lifestyle among young people, in which they have invested over 8700 employees' hours.
Additionally, SoftServe is committed to a sustainable future and environmental protection. In May 2024, the company continued its long-term mission by planting 105 new trees in Vitosha, furthering its efforts in environmental conservation.
“SoftServe’s willingness to help community and support sustainability is a cornerstone of our company values,” added Simeonov. “We are dedicated to making a positive impact both in the IT industry and in society at large.”
As for the future, the company plans to continue its investment in innovation, talent development, and community engagement. By leveraging emerging technologies and fostering a culture of continuous learning, SoftServe aims to further solidify its position as a leader in the global IT landscape and contribute to the digital transformation of industries worldwide.
