SoftServe Reaffirms Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility
New Report Highlights Corporate and Individual Initiatives Over Two Year Period
SoftServe, a global leader in digital services and software development, has reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in a new report called “Synergy of Success.” SoftServe’s approach to CSR focuses on making a positive impact in the communities where the company operates.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities from 2015 through 2016, including key CSR areas: working conditions and professional development, IT education, environmental responsibility, social investments, corporate volunteering, and charity.
Active Community Outreach
Since its founding in 1993, SoftServe has taken a responsible approach toward business management and supported a number of formal and informal social programs that benefit local communities. This year, the company created a dedicated team responsible for the development and execution of existing and future CSR initiatives.
In addition to regular volunteering opportunities, a corporate charity “Open Eyes” was established in 2014 to support educational, social, and infrastructure projects of all kinds. In three years, SoftServe employees raised more than $925,000 USD.
Funds raised have been used for a variety of projects, including repairs to the underwater spinal traction room in the Lviv military hospital’s rehabilitation center and educational rehabilitation of children with disabilities at the Dzherelo Children’s Rehabilitation Centre.
“SoftServe’s mission is to enable talented people to change the world, and that mission extends to our corporate social responsibility program,” said Chris Baker, Chief Executive Officer, SoftServe. “I am immensely proud of SoftServe’s social accomplishments, as they reflect the power of collaboration and our team’s shared passion for helping others succeed.”
Access to Educational Opportunity
SoftServe also prioritizes professional development as part of its CSR program. SoftServe’s Corporate University was founded in 2006, providing a wide range of online and offline trainings, seminars, a certification center, and a language school.
Annually, SoftServe University conducts more than 1,000 trainings, 13,000 internal exams, and awards 2,000 international certifications in cooperation with global testing providers, such as Pearson Education, TOEFL, and Prometric Testing.
In addition to internal education, SoftServe initiates and supports external activities in the fields of IT education as well as the development of the IT market in Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Poland. In 2015, SoftServe held 37 external events attracting 3,200 IT professionals. In 2016, SoftServe organized 41 events, gathering about 4,500 participants.
Baker continued, “A company’s employees are its greatest asset, and SoftServe welcomes opportunities that allow us to invest in our own professional development as well as the development of the IT community that fuels our growth.”
