SoftServe provided equipment for computer lab at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv
LVIV, Ukraine (March 25, 2024) - Ivan Franko National University of Lviv launched an upgraded System Analysis Lab at the Department of Theory of Optimal Processes, Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics.
The laboratory was renovated jointly by the university and SoftServe, whose co-founders are graduates of the Department of Theory of Optimal Processes. The university renovated two rooms for the laboratory, and SoftServe equipped the lab with 30 powerful modern Lenovo computers and Samsung monitors.
"We are very pleased that such a large and globally known company as SoftServe sees the need and the opportunity to cooperate with the university. With all our efforts, we would not have been able to do this, especially in the current times. We thank you, first of all, for understanding that only together we can build the creative university environment with proper conditions for students' education," comments Volodymyr Melnyk, Rector of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
"I am grateful to the university, this faculty and the department in particular, which many years ago gave me good knowledge that became a springboard in my life. I have always been impressed by the high level of theoretical education and the ability to solve problems provided by the university. We work closely with higher education institutions, and with Ivan Franko National University in particular, helping in various ways - from improving programs and subjects to funding laboratories, like today. Students graduating from the university are now more prepared for real work in the technology industry, and we are happy to be involved in this process," comments Yaroslav Lubinets, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board, SoftServe.
In general, SoftServe has been cooperating with Ivan Franko National University for many years. As of now, the company is involved in four bachelor's programs at the university: the “Quantum Computers and Quantum Programming” program at the Faculty of Physics, the “Computer Science” program at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies, and the “Computer Science” and “Cybersecurity” programs at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics. Several dozen company specialists are involved in the programs as teachers, mentors for students, members of the jury for evaluating student projects, etc.
