Our client is one of the leading companies designing and producing exclusive, high-fashion gowns and dresses - providing these to a network of over 1,000 retail outlets in more than 30 countries.
Our client was using a legacy ERP system for managing its production and sales processes. This system had been supporting company’s processes for more than five years, but it provided limited opportunities for new functionality development and integration with external systems.
They were looking for a software solution that could effectively support and improve existing and future business processes. The new system needed to support and enhance future business growth by providing new opportunities for external system integration.
Our client faced several key business challenges:
- Difficulty supporting the existing legacy system, resulting in limited ability to make changes to existing functionality and adding new automated business processes.
- Not having the ability to integrate with existing and future systems meant they could not expand and improve sales processes which limited company growth.
- Low system performance resulted wasted time waiting for pages to load or requests to be completed.
- Sub-optimal user experience requited more time for executing daily tasks.
Our client wanted to replace its existing legacy system with a new system that would cover automation of current and future business processes and support future company growth.
The new solution needed to support integration with external systems, provide the ability to easily maintain and support future system extensions, cover core business processes available in existing legacy system, and give users an easy way to perform daily tasks.
The project execution began with a small team on the customer side, but soon grew to include a product manager and several SoftServe developers. A ‘workshop-like’ estimate approach was taken with the involvement of a business analyst and architect from SoftServe who collected requirements needed to provide solid estimates on time and cost and create the product vision and roadmap.
SoftServe provided estimates for an Odoo based solution, a custom development system using a native Python framework, and Salesforce.
The application developed by SoftServe is a RESTful Single Page ERP system based on an Odoo solution with Python and PostgreSQL on backend and React/Redux.js on frontend using Google Cloud infrastructure.
Re-creating our client’s ERP from scratch was a first step in transitioning their organization into a the digital age company, with future initiatives to develop a PoS system and e-commerce and marketplace platform for the high-fashion industry bolster its stance in the high-fashion industry.
SoftServe’s ERP solution supports a user-friendly and quick way to perform daily business tasks with insight and statistics around company performance, future integration support with other external systems, and optimized warehouse and sales processes.
