SoftServe Sponsoring & Speaking at SATURN 2019
When
May 06, 2019
Where
Sheraton Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh, PA
SoftServe is proudly sponsoring and speaking at the annual SEI Architecture Technology User Network Conference (SATURN).
The SATURN conference brings together an international audience of software architects, industry thought leaders, developers, technical managers, and researchers. The goal of the conference is for these professionals to share ideas, insights, and experiences about effective architecture-centric practices for developing and maintaining software-intensive systems.
AGENDA
Tuesday, May 7, 4:00—4:30pm
Legacy to Cloud-Native Modernization in GCP
Speaker: Andriy Shapochka
Wednesday, May 8, 4:45—6:15pm
Smart Decisions: An Architecture Design Game for IoT Solutions
During this session, SoftServe will introduce and demonstrate ‘Smart Decisions for IoT’, a game that simulates the architecture design process of a solution in the Internet of Things (IoT) domain. The game is inspired by Attribute-Driven Design (ADD), and previous versions of the game in the big data and machine learning (ML) domains. Players learn to apply the ‘Smart Decision’ approach to architecture design while they get more familiar with architectural considerations for IoT system design.
Speakers: Yaroslav Pidstryhach, Serge Haziyev, Rick Kazman, and Shaun Green
Thursday, May 9, 1:00—1:45pm
Architecting to Support Machine Learning
This discussion will address the need for architecture to support ML, from a theoretical and practical point of view. Our goal is to help software architects to design systems that support ML. This is done by identifying common architecture design considerations for various phases of data processing, training, and model serving.
Speakers: Iurii Milovanov, Rick Kazman, and Humberto Cervantes

About SEI
The primary mission of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) is to support the defense of the United States. The SEI conducts research in software engineering, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and many other areas of computing, working to introduce private-sector innovations into government.
In addition to supporting the Department of Defense, we also work extensively with the private sector and academia in an array of disciplines. Our research, prototyping, mission application, training, and education activities are heavily interrelated and are relevant to a broad range of problem sets.
